As I write this, I am officially one hour away from heading over to Gulfshore Playhouse's season premier! The first show of 2017-2018 is called "Leading Ladies" written by Ken Ludwig and Directed by Darren Katz.
From the sneak peak I saw while shooting footage of their dress rehearsals for our promo video it should be pretty wild. Here is the premise as written on www.gulfshoreplayhouse.org.
When two struggling actors hear that an elderly woman in York, PA plans on leaving her immense fortune to her late sister’s long lost children, Max and Steve, they see an opportunity to end to their woes. What seems like a perfect plan quickly dissolves into mayhem as they discover that the woman’s relatives are not nephews, but nieces! Jack and Leo give their greatest performance yet as “Maxine and Stephanie” in this laugh out loud comedy by the genius who brought us Fox on the Fairway and The Game’s Afoot.
If you know anything about Kristen Coury and her amazing team over at GSPH, you can appreciate why I am so excited. This place puts on world class shows with some of the best actors on the planet. I am not exaggerating. I once went to their production of "An Enemy of the People" (which was perhaps my favorite play they have ever done) and when on a date with my wife just a few weeks later noticed one of the actors from that play was in the movie we were seeing! For you fact checkers out there, the movie was Central Intelligence with Kevin Hart and The Rock. The actor's name was Timothy John Smith. Google it.
So, ya! I better wrap this up and get ready to go have an awesome man-date with Larry at the Gulfshore Playhouse. Keep an eye out for my review of the play this week!
