On Wednesday, July 11th, the Collier County Lodging & Tourism Alliance met at the Inn on 5th in downtown Naples to eat breakfast, network, and listen to a presentation from the Naples Airport Authority.
NAA CEO Christopher Rozansky delivered a fascinating look at the past, present, and future of the Naples Municipal Airport. The Airport, which was established in 1943 as a military airfield, is now responsible for over 95,000 takeoffs and landings every year and has an economic impact of more than $283.5 million annually.
Lancit Digital Media president Larry Lancit listened as Rozansky explained the NAA's master plan:
-A long term planning study (20 year timeframe) focused on providing a safe and efficient airport for the benefit of the local economy and community
-Responds to changes and trends in the aviation industry
-Integrates environmental, sustainability and resiliency elements
-Ensures the highest and best use of available land, including potential non-aviation commercial real estate and development strategies.
After the meeting, Larry and I decided to actually head over to the Naples Municipal Airport to check in on our network, Paradise Coast TV, which plays in the lobby. While there, I decided I would take one last picture doing my best to look like Tom Cruise from Top Gun...
It was a very productive and informative morning. It is always great to see a room full of friendly faces and community leaders. A special thanks to the Inn on 5th for hosting us and to the CCLTA for a wonderful meeting.
